On Saturday, Forsyth County will host a touch-a-truck event near the children’s playground between 9 a.m. and noon at Fowler Park. While kids are getting an up-close look at one of the firetrucks, parents can have firefighters check that child safety seats are properly installed.

“Unfortunately, all too often we see that child safety seats are not properly installed,” Division Chief Jason Shivers said in a news release. “This event provides attendees the chance to have trained technicians inspect their car seats and ensure they are installed properly. The technicians will also review with the parent or caregiver how to properly install the seat themselves. We want to help ensure children are always riding safely.”

The event is offered by the fire department and Safe Kids Forsyth.

Fowler Park is located at 4110 Carolene Way, just off Atlanta Highway (Hwy. 9 south). For more information, contact the county’s Parks and Recreation Department at (770) 886-4088 or fire department at (770) 205-5699.
