The city of Cumming’s 2019 Fourth of July celebration on Thursday, July 4 at the Cumming Fairgrounds will give visitors a chance to bring in the patriotic holiday with a large number of food vendors, live music, contests from local businesses and more.

Here's a comprehensive guide to the making the most of the day.

The annual Cumming Fourth of July Celebration

When: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Thursday, July 4

Where: Cumming Fairgrounds, 235 Castleberry Road.

Admission: $5 for adults and children, 13 years or older. Children under 13 are free.

Parking: Free. No parking is allowed inside the fairgrounds.

Schedule and attractions
Parade

Annual Thomas-Mashburn Steam Engine Parade: Floats of local companies, antique cars and steam engines will make their way through downtown Cumming. The parade is from 10 a.m. to noon and admission is free. The route will go from Forsyth Central High School on Tribble Gap/Castleberry Road to the Cumming Fairgrounds.

Fairgrounds festival: Noon to 11 p.m. Admission is $5 a ticket for adults and children, 13 years or older. Free parking. Food vendors, a zip line, inflatables, dunk tank, beer gardens and contests will be part of the entertainment. The Pizza Eating Contest will take place at 4 p.m., the Pie Eating Contest will be at 5 p.m., Hot Dog Eating Contest will be at 7 p.m., and a dance contest at 8:30 p.m.

Red, White & Rock Music Fest at the Fairgrounds: 1-11 p.m. Entry included with $5 admission ticket. Music will be provided by 37 Main, including Cowboy (Kid Rock tribute), 84 (Van Halen tribute), Rock The 90s USA, Drop Tailgate and more.

Fireworks display: 9:30 p.m. Admission is free. The fireworks will be visible from all of downtown Cumming.

Food and drink: Local food vendors from Forsyth County will be at the fairgrounds to sell their fare. There will be beer gardens throughout the fairgrounds as well. Other drink options will be available as well.

Do’s and Don’ts: Pets, coolers, alcohol, and outside food or drinks are not allowed in the fairgrounds. Fair patrons are welcome to bring strollers, wheelchairs and chairs for concerts.
