FORSYTH COUNTY -- The participation and results of Forsyth County Young Life’s golf tournament doubled this year, according the organization.

In a news release, the group said more than 116 golfers took part in the event, which was held April 28 at Laurel Springs Golf Club and raised more than $20,000.

Young Life is an interdenominational nonprofit that shares the message of Jesus Christ with middle and high school students.

According to the organization, the tournament was organized by Michael Cline and Jeff Hodge, whose teenage daughters attend Lambert High School.

In a statement, the men said they have seen “positive influence in our daughters” from Young Life.

“It has been a place of refuge and wholesome fun during the often challenging high school years,” they said. “We decided to organize the golf tournament this year to help raise awareness and funds so every kid in Forsyth County would have a chance to have this same experience.”
