A boil water advisory is in effect for a neighborhood off Buford Dam Road.

Officials with Cumming Utilities announced at about 3:30 on Tuesday afternoon the advisory was in effect for residents living in the Sweetwater subdivision off Buford Dam Road due to issues with water valves.

Water lines for the neighborhood have been flushed, and workers collected samples for bacteriological testing.

Residents are being asked to boil water before drinking or cooking with it until those test results are available on Wednesday around 4 p.m.
