A new phase of Forsyth County’s interactive Web site, eStatus, is now available.

It provides more planning-related information, including the ability for residents to search by map.

An expansion of the eStatus Web page launched a year ago, the new features include all public hearing application types and land development permit and plat types.

The new ability to search by map enables residents to search spatially for records under review or those recently closed.

Those interested can also register to automatically receive the latest information about records in a Web browser, mapping program or Microsoft Outlook.

Jeff Chance, the county’s planning director, said the new features will be helpful.

“Making this information available on the Web site helps people stay informed about requests and proposed changes in the community,” Chance said.

“It is one more way to involve and engage community members and the development community in the planning and development process.”

When using the eStatus Web page, users can choose to search by application, application number, permit or plat type and by identifying a location on the map.
