Forsyth County commissioners on Thursday voted 4-0 to release about $178,000 from the 2013 vehicle replacement fund for refurbishing Ford Crown Victorias, which are no longer in production.
The work was granted as a change order to Billy Howell Ford, which agreed to the same pricing as for previous patrol car refurbishing work.
Also during their meeting Thursday, the commissioners:
* Ratified a workers’ compensation settlement agreement with Andrea Noble, a firefighter, for $50,000 and release of further claims.
* Approved a rezoning from master planned district to Res-4 for SR Homes LLC on a 61-acre Majors Road site near Castleberry Road.
The plan calls for 125 lots with a density of 2 units per acre. The site was formerly part of the planned mixed use development known as Venable Hall.
* Readopted a letter of intent to accept Patriot Way into the county road maintenance system.
The change calls for “reasonable efforts” for the county to resurface the road prior to the start of construction for the planned Wal-Mart on Peachtree Parkway, for which Patriot Way will serve as an access road.
Note: All votes were 4-0, with Commissioner Todd Levent absent, unless otherwise noted.
