FORSYTH COUNTY — Forsyth’s department of engineering is holding two public information meetings this week about the county’s Bicycle Transportation and Pedestrian Walkways 2025 Plan Update.

The meetings are set for Monday at the Hampton Park Library, 5345 Settingdown Road, and Tuesday at the Post Road Library, 5010 Post Road. Both meetings will run from 6 to 8 p.m.

There will be no formal presentations during the drop-in style sessions, which will provide an overview on the county’s bicycle transportation and pedestrian walkways needs assessment.

Displays will be set up and visitors can talk with consultant representatives and county staff.

“We welcome and encourage all interested residents to attend these meetings and offer their input,” said John Cunard, the county’s director of engineering.

The existing plan was adopted in 2002 and last updated in 2008.

According to a county news release the goal is to foster the development of an interconnected network of bicycle and pedestrian facilities that meets the county’s future transportation mobility and recreation needs. It also promotes alternative means of transportation, and enhances the county’s overall quality of life.
