FORSYTH COUNTY — The Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Department is holding its spring community yard sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the parking area by Central Park’s tennis courts.

Coordinator Elizabeth Shoemake said there will be a variety of items for sale, including clothing and toys.

“We’ll [also] have household goods,” she said. “We have a wide age range of people that are selling, so I think we’ll get a pretty good variety of different items.

“What we’ve done is we’ve opened this up to the community ... Any money that is made goes directly back to whoever is selling the products.”

The event is a chance to get out and mingle in the community, but offers other opportunities.

“It also gets people into our parks, Shoemake said. “We figure that if we can get them … looking around, they’ll find other activities that they may want to do later.”

Registration has closed for those wanting to sell items, but anyone is welcome to shop. Last year’s sale drew several hundred people, she said.

Central Park is at 2300 Keith Bridge Road. For more information, call (678) 455-8540.
