CUMMING — Has the downtown Cumming skyline looked different this week? Well, you’re not imagining things.
Over the weekend, workers took down a large crane that had towered above the area for the past year.
The crane was second of two — the first came down earlier this year — used in the construction of a new Forsyth County Courthouse and detention center.
Work on the structures, which are rising across East Maple Street from each other, began in July 2013. They are scheduled to open by mid-2015.
Their construction is being funded by revenue from the $100 million 1-cent sales tax program, which voters approved in a November 2011 referendum.
