Book lovers will have more time to spend at the four Forsyth County Public Library locations next year.
Starting on Jan. 7, the libraries will extend hours to 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. Hours will remain the same for Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m., and 1:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. on Sundays.
“We’ve had frequent requests to open the libraries earlier and to keep them open later, especially from adult patrons who use the public computers and from students who are doing homework, researching papers, or working on group projects,” said Library Director Anna Lyle.
In a news release, library officials credited the longer hours to the 2019 county budget, which also included funding for four additional part-time staff members and a full-time outreach specialist.
“We’re grateful to the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners for including an increase in the 2019 budget to allow the library to provide expanded services to the Forsyth County community,” said Lyle.
