Cumming Police Chief David Marsh – a 2003 graduate of Auburn University who worked with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office from 2004 until recently accepting the position as chief – was officially sworn-in to his new role by Mayor Troy Brumbalow during a special called meeting of the Cumming City Council on Monday, July 22.
Before the actual swearing-in, Brumbalow had Marsh recite a fake oath first pledging to perform all police chief duties before including answering “all cries of ‘War Eagle’ with ‘Go Dawgs,’” banning “any and all Auburn paraphernalia from police department property” and several other digs at Marsh’s alma mater.
