Construction is scheduled to start Tuesday on the first of two new parking facilities in downtown Cumming.
The structures are part of the new Forsyth County courthouse and jail projects, funded by the voter-approved special purpose local option sales tax, or SPLOST VII, program.
The site of the future deck at Castleberry Road and Maple Street will have limited parking available once work begins.
Weekday, daytime public parking spaces will be available at several locations near the county administration building.
Also, starting Oct. 28, designated parking and shuttling will be available for those summoned for jury duty.
Parking will be available in a designated area of the Cumming Fairgrounds parking lot off of Castleberry.
From this parking area, those summoned for jury duty may choose to ride a shuttle or walk to the administration building.
The shuttle will be available from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on jury summons days.
Construction of the second parking facility, located near the administration building, is expected to begin in the spring.
