Shelter to waive pet adoption fees for the holidays
Home for the holdiays

With the holidays coming, the Forsyth County Animal Shelter is hoping to help local families add a new member.

Through Thursday, Jan. 2, the shelter is waiving the standard $85 adoption fee for pets as part of the Home for the Holidays promotion. The shelter is located at 4065 County Way, just of Ga. 400.

“Home for the holidays has become a time of the year that the entire staff at the shelter looks forward to because we know that our wonderful animals have a great opportunity at finding their forever homes,” said Animal Shelter Manager Cindy Iacopella in a news release. “Each of these pets deserves a family to go home with and we truly enjoy seeing the smiles they put on adopting families’ faces.”

Adoptions include microchipping, altering and vaccinations.

Those wanting to pick up a new furry friend should keep in mind the shelter will be closed for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

The department is also looking for volunteers, those wanting to foster animals and donations of items like food, toys and bedding.
