SOUTH FORSYTH -- One suspect was shot and three federal agents injured in an incident Saturday morning at the CVS drug store on Old Atlanta Road at Windermere Parkway.

Robin Regan, a spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, said the agents were part of a Federal Bureau of Investigation task force, and that their injuries were the result of a car crash that followed the shooting about 7 a.m.

The collision left one vehicle overturned in the middle of the parkway just south of Old Atlanta, with another stuck on the nearby median and a third damaged near the CVS entrance.

Although sheriff’s deputies assist the FBI on various task forces, none were directly involved with this case or at the location.

It was not immediately clear what led up to the incident or how the encounter occurred.

The three FBI agents were taken to area hospitals for treatment of what Regan described as non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect also was hospitalized for treatment of a gunshot wound. His condition could not immediately be determined.

Windermere Parkway likely be closed for most of the day as the FBI investigates the incident.
