Friends and family of a local man who died Tuesday have established a way for those wishing to help the deceased’s family — a surviving significant other and three young sons — via online donations.

DJ Johnson with McDonald & Son Funeral Home said Toby Foster, 25, passed away Tuesday.

Family member Robin Pounds said Foster’s passing was the result of a car wreck late Monday night in Pickens County on Yellow Creek Road.

As of press time, officials could not be reached to discuss the incident but a representative of the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office said that Georgia State Patrol was handling the investigation.

Calls to the Georgia State Patrol were not returned as of press time.

Foster and Ashly Martin of Ball Ground have three sons, Easton, 5, Braxton, 4, and Carson, 3, according to Robin Pounds, Martin’s mother and grandmother of the three boys.

While the family lives on Old Federal Road in Ball Ground, they have a Cumming mailing address, and Easton attends school at Matt Elementary in Forsyth County.

Pounds said Ashly and Toby have been together for eight years.

“They were like teenage sweethearts,” Pounds said, fighting tears. “They’ve been together a long time and loved each other very much. Toby was a good dad too.”

She went on to say that the family “had not even gotten to go Christmas shopping yet.”

A gofundme page online allows those who wish to donate to help the family. The page, which was set up by a friend of the family, describes Foster as “a friend to many” who was “tragically taken from us after a terrible accident.”
