A man is in critical condition after reports of a drowning Sunday, April 28, at Lake Lanier.

A 911 caller told authorities the man was out of the water at Buford Dam Park and bystanders were providing CPR, according to Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services.

When Gwinnett firefighters arrived, Army Corps of Engineers park rangers and a Gwinnett County police officer had taken over resuscitation efforts.

Paramedics ended up taking the man to Northside Hospital Forsyth.

The man’s name and further details about the incident weren’t immediately known.
