Man dies in north Forsyth wreck

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of a Dawsonville man killed in a single vehicle wreck in north Forsyth on Monday evening.   

According to a news release from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, John Peter Trump, a 56 year old from Dawsonville, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck after his vehicle, a 1993 GMC Sierra left the road and struck a tree.

Deputies arrived at the scene around 7 p.m. Monday.

The release stated Trump was traveling south down Waldrip Road in north Forsyth, and, “while negotiating the curve just south of Bryant Road, the vehicle crossed into the northbound lane and back into the southbound lane.”

The truck “continued out of control,” leaving the road, striking several objects and a tree, coming to a stop against the support beams of a nearby barn.

The cause of the wreck is currently under investigation by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Specialist Unit.
