A man involved in a fatal, head-on collision on Mathis Airport Parkway Tuesday has been identified as 52-year-old Darin Curran of Cumming, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.
The wreck, which occurred around 6:50 a.m. Tuesday near Mathis Airport Drive, happened when a northbound 2004 Honda Odyssey being driven by another person drifted into the left lane, drove over the raised median and into the southbound lane, striking Curran’s 2008 BMW 135i head on.
The driver of the Odyssey, Viraraghavan Varadarajan, was with a young family member in the car. The driver was transported to an area hospital, but the young passenger was not injured.
It was one of two separate wrecks that occurred within about 30 minutes of each other Tuesday in separate areas of Forsyth County.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
