A 30-year-old man was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries Friday morning after his tractor trailer overturned on Matt Highway (Hwy. 369) in north Forsyth.

Around 7:40 a.m. May 19, the man, who was transporting trash, was traveling west on Hwy. 369 by Rose Creek Drive when he reportedly lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a curve, according to Deputy Doug Rainwater, a spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

The movement caused the tractor trailer to overturn and spill the trash onto the road and grassy shoulder, temporarily shutting down one lane.

The highway was reopened around 10 a.m. after the trash company sent a cleanup crew to remove the debris, Rainwater said.

Charges filed against the driver, the only person involved, include too fast for conditions and failure to maintain lane.
