A Forsyth County man remains hospitalized following a motorcycle wreck over the weekend in north Forsyth.

Gary Bays, 42, was flown Friday night to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, authorities said.

According to a Forsyth County Sheriff’s report, Bays was traveling north on Waldrip Road at a speed too high to negotiate the curve just before Bryant Road.

The 1992 Suzuki VX800 left the road and went into a grassy area, where Bays lost control of it.

"The motorcycle was laid down and slid approximately 45 feet impacting a tree," the report shows.

"It appeared from evidence on scene that when the motorcycle impacted the tree, the driver was between the tree and the motorcycle."

There were no other vehicles involved in the crash, which remains under investigation, authorities said.
