Man wins $1.5M playing lottery

A Cumming resident has won $1.5 million playing the Georgia Lottery, officials announced Tuesday.

According to the Georgia Lottery Corp., Michael Whatley bought the winning ticket for the new instant game Jumbo Jumbo Bucks-Anniversary Edition at Bagwell & Spears on Hickory Flat Road in Canton.

Whatley claimed his prize Friday at the lottery’s district office in Duluth.
