Merge lane shifted earlier on Ga. 400 NB in south Forsyth
Down to two lanes half-mile further south through Friday

SOUTH FORSYTH – One left lane on Ga. 400 northbound is shortened and repositioned through Friday’s afternoon commute.

The lane closure is to help complete construction activities in the widening of the state route, weather permitting, according to the Georgia Department Transportation.

Currently, the road merges from three travel lanes to two just north of McFarland Parkway (Exit 12) heading north. The new alignment requires the dropping of the third travel lane be placed south of the interchange, requiring motorists to merge into two lanes about a half-mile earlier.

“This new pattern is necessary to complete the final construction and paving at this location,” the state department said in a news release.
