DAWSONVILLE — Charges are pending against a Dawsonville woman who authorities say pulled into the path of a motorcycle traveling south along Ga. 400 on Sunday.

Joshua Palmer, 23, of Hoschton was critically injured when his motorcycle struck the passenger side of a 1999 Chevrolet Lumina driven by 22-year-old Katherine Passaro of Dawsonville.

Georgia State Patrol spokeswoman Robin Stone said Passaro, who was traveling north on Ga. 400, reportedly was attempting to turn left onto Industrial Park Road about 1 p.m. when Palmer collided with her vehicle.

"Witnesses said she turned in front of him," she said.

Palmer was flown by helicopter to Atlanta Medical Center.

Lanier Swafford, director of Dawson County Emergency Services, said the man’s injuries were life threatening.

A social media post by his family on Tuesday said he was still sedated and had a long recovery ahead.

Passaro was also injured in the crash, according to Stone, who said she was treated at an area hospital.
