Motorcyclist injured in 4-vehicle crash on Ga. 400 involving tire retread
FCSO

SOUTH FORSYTH – A four-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle briefly shut down Ga. 400 northbound just north of McFarland Parkway/Exit 12 about 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The accident occurred at the Big Creek Bridge in south Forsyth and was reportedly caused by a tire retread that was struck by one of the vehicles, according to Cpl. Pete Sabella, a spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

Only the motorcyclist was injured and was taken to North Fulton Hospital.

Deputies have not released details on the gender or condition of the biker.

The other three cars involved were passenger vehicles.

No charges are pending, and Sabella said alcohol or drugs are not suspected to be a factor.

In addition to the sheriff’s office, the Forsyth County Fire Department also responded to the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
