Motorcyclist killed in Friday wreck

An Alpharetta man is dead following a Friday morning collision between an SUV and a motorcycle.

According to a Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office press release, 29-year-old James Rollins, was killed after being struck from his motorcycle by an SUV that was allegedly turning left on Atlanta Highway at Creamer Drive.

The wreck occurred at about 8 a.m.

“A 2005 Triumph motorcycle was traveling north on Atlanta Highway approaching its intersection with Creamer Drive. A 2017 Ford Escape was traveling south on Atlanta Highway and began a left onto Creamer Drive in front of the motorcycle. The Triumph motorcycle struck the Ford Escape on the passenger side rear door as the Ford Escape was making the left turn,” said Deputy First Class Andy Ives, traffic specialist investigator for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

Rollins was transported to North Fulton Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

The driver of the Ford Escape was not injured and has been identified as 43-year-old Jody Robinson of Alpharetta.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Specialist Unit.

As of press time, no charges had been filed.
