GAINESVILLE — Motorists should again expect delays Thursday on Hwy. 53 (Dawsonville Highway) as filming for a movie, “Goosebumps,” starring Jack Black, takes place in Hall, Forsyth and Jackson counties.

“They did not get done [Wednesday] what they needed to because of technical difficulties,” said Georgia Department of Transportation spokeswoman Teri Pope.

Traffic will be slowed on Hwy. 53 from Lake Ranch Court to Marina Drive in Hall, including the bridge over the Chattahoochee River; and Hwy. 53 between Dogwood Path in Forsyth and Little Hall Road at Little Hall Park in Hall, including the bridge over the Chestatee River.

And delays are expected on Hwy. 11/U.S. 129/Jefferson Bypass between Galilee Church Road in Jefferson and Park Street in Arcade.

The film crew’s work will require intermittent traffic stops of up to 5 minutes between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., according to the DOT, which recommends motorists avoid the areas if possible.

Hall County Camera Ready Liaison Stacey Dickson said the filming is related to a chase scene in the movie, which is based on the children’s horror book series by R.L. Stine.
