CASA seeks teachers, volunteers, coaches who have made difference
Light of Hope

It’s time to nominate locals who have made a difference in the lives children for a community honor.

CASA of Forsyth County, Inc., is currently taking nominations for Light of Hope recipients, which honors adults who regularly “share their light with the children in our community.”

Nominations for the award close on Friday at 5 p.m.

“There is no better time than April, National Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month, to celebrate and honor people who go out of their way to be the difference in a child’s life,” said Paula Malmfeldt, executive director of CASA.

“CASA advocates for children in our county who have been abused and neglected. We see firsthand, daily, what a difference one caring person can make in the life of a child,” she said.

The Light of Hope ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. April 25 at the Cumming Parks and Recreation building at 437 Pilgrim Mill Road.

According to the release, nominations are open to teachers, volunteers, coaches or others who work with children in the community.

Nomination forms are available online at or by calling 770-886-4082.
