NORTH FORSYTH — A single-vehicle wreck early Saturday claimed the life of a 36-year-old Forsyth County woman north of Cumming, authorities said.

According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, Jamie Lynn McBrayer was traveling south on Mountain Road west of Hwy. 9 when she lost control in a curve.

Doug Rainwater, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office, said the vehicle was found in a ditch under a tree that had previously fallen. Branches covered the vehicle, shielding it from view on the road.

Rainwater estimated the crash occurred about 3:30 a.m., while a passer-by reported it at 5:34 a.m.

McBrayer, whose last known address was in northeastern Forsyth, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles or people were involved in the wreck.

It was not immediately known whether drugs or alcohol were suspected factors, Rainwater said, as the crime lab report has not been completed and the incident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
