CUMMING -- Registration will soon open for free prostate cancer screenings at Northside-Hospital Forsyth.
Registrations for the screening will open on Sept. 12, and men 40-75 who have never been diagnosed with prostate cancer and haven’t had a prostate exam within the last year are eligible to participate. Registrations are required to take part in the screening.
The screening will be held from 6-8 p.m. at Northside Hospital-Forsyth on Wednesday, Oct. 26 and prostate-specific antigen, or PSA, blood tests and physical exams will be provided.
If needed, a nurse navigator will be present to arrange future care.
The screening is a service of the hospital’s cancer institute.
Free language interpretation services will be available.
On Sept. 28, Northside Hospital in Atlanta will hold a similar screening. Registration for that event opened earlier this month.
Earlier this year, the hospital held screenings at its Alpharetta and Cherokee County locations.
To register, call (404) 531-4444. More information is available at northside.com.
