Those who love Lake Lanier soon will have another opportunity to help keep its shoreline beautiful and clean.

Keep Forsyth County Beautiful and the Lake Lanier Association will hold the 23rd Annual Shore Sweep from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 24.

The event invites area residents to pick up trash and other debris from around the lake.

Participating locations in Forsyth County include Bald Ridge, Habersham and Port Royale marinas.

Volunteers report to one of the locations to pick up trash bags and a shoreline assignment area, to which they will then travel and pick up trash.

All volunteers turning in at least one full bag of garbage will receive an event T-shirt.

Advance registration for the sweep is not required, but does help organizers provide adequate coverage to all areas of the shoreline.
