The Forsyth, Dawson, Hall and Lumpkin county sheriff’s offices are sponsoring a benefit in memory of two Buford brothers who died in a June 18 boating accident on Lake Lanier.
The Griffin & Jake Prince Classic Car and Motorcycle Memorial Ride is set for Aug. 11 and features a 70-mile ride around Lanier and through the four counties.
Registration is set for 9 to 11 a.m. at the Lumpkin County Courthouse. Fees are $40 per bike or old car.
A “pre-ride” meeting is set for 11 a.m., with the event to start at 11:15 a.m., according to a flier distributed by the agencies.
If it rains, the event will be held Sept. 1.
Proceeds will go to the Griffin & Jake Prince Memorial Fund.
Fifty percent of food sales — $10 per plate, including a hamburger, french fries and a drink — will go to the fund. Entertainment also will be provided.
