CUMMING — There’s still time to catch the International Professional Rodeo Association World Championship, which wraps up its three-day run at the Cumming Fairgrounds on Sunday night.

The event, which has become a Labor Day weekend tradition in the city, is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Gates will open about two hours ahead of time.

“It’s always a fun event,” said Dave Horton, fairgrounds director. “It’s one of those things that it’s action packed from beginning to end, as there’s not a lot of lag time.

“They usually go from one event, then they might have a specialty act when they’re getting the next event ready. There’s not any real down time.”

The eight-event rodeo includes bull riding, women’s barrel racing, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, calf roping, team roping and the cowgirl breakaway roping.

Also on hand will be speciality acts such as a rodeo clown and trick roper, as well as food and merchandise vendors.

Admission is $15 for adults 14 and older, $12 for seniors 65 and older, $10 for kids ages 5-12 and free for children 4 and younger. More information can be found at http://www.cummingfair.net/calendar-of-events/rodeo/.
