The Safe Kids Georgia coalition, which focuses on preventing avoidable injuries to children, has come to Forsyth County, the organization's 25th community.
Safe Kids Forsyth held its kickoff meeting Tuesday. Safe Kids Georgia Director Beverly Losman gave a brief presentation on some of the events the organization takes part in, from water safety to bike and pedestrian safety.
Losman explained how Safe Kids helps different groups that may already be offering safety events of their own join together to provide more resources for even larger events.
The organization is also looking for local volunteers to help with these events, Losman said. She added that anyone can take available classes, such as learning to be a car seat installation technician.
Those interested in joining can contact Sheriff's Deputy Courtney Spriggs at firstname.lastname@example.org or at (770) 205-4547.
