Santa Claus and the elves from the Sawnee-Cumming Optimist Club helped make this Christmas brighter for two young girls who were recently injured in a car wreck.
According to a press release, Santa and his elves visited the girls at their home this week, presenting them with gifts and a $100 gift card.
Yuliana and Kelly, students at Haw Creek Elementary School, were injured in November when a car allegedly drove around the side of their bus and struck the girls as they walked up their driveway.
“Optimists touch the lives of children in many ways throughout the year,” Janna Shacklett, president of the Sawnee-Cumming Optimist Club said in the release. “But seeing the smiles of children at Christmas time is special. Particularly in this case, children who were injured by a vehicle while waiting for their school bus. The children are doing well now, and even better when they got to meet Santa personally.”
