Sawnee Elementary gets donation for outdoor STEM classroom
Forsyth County Optimist Club
The Forsyth County Optimist Club recently gave $800 in support of the Sawnee Elementary outdoor STEM classroom.

The Forsyth County Optimist Club recently presented Gina Harper, the Sawnee Elementary PTO president, $800 for the school’s outdoor STEM classroom.

The classroom is available to the students for their math and science instruction.

Earlier this year, the Optimist Club awarded 10 college scholarships of $1,000 each to Forsyth County high school seniors. In addition, Lanier Technical College Foundation was given $2,000 to be awarded to students at the college.

The funds are generated through the club’s Avenue of Flags program which is supported by more than 900 residents displaying American flags for six holidays.
