Sewer spill reported at Saint Marlo Country Club
Sewer spill

Forsyth County officials say a sewage spill occurred at 7450 Saint Marlo Country Club Parkway in Duluth.

The main cause was determined to be household debris, including paper towels and rags. The Forsyth County Department of Water and Sewer was notified at 11:40 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, and the overflow was stopped at 1:48 p.m. The spill was about 17,490 gallons in volume and entered unnamed tributary of Dick Creek.

To help mitigate the effects of the spill, Forsyth County raked the area, strawed and spread lime. Signs letting residents know of the spill have been placed in the area. The Georgia EPD was notified on Sept. 19.
