The Forsyth County Public Library system has announced that the Sharon Forks Library will be closed for a little over a month for finishing touches to be completed on the library’s expansion and renovation.

According to a press release from the library system, the Sharon Forks branch will be closed from Feb. 19 through March 23, and will host a grand re-opening event on March 24.

“The wait is almost over. Our staff is so excited about sharing this newly expanded space with our patrons, but we have lots of work to do in the few short weeks we’ll be closed,” said Sharon Forks Manager Mendy Gunter.

The release stated that over the month the branch is closed, construction crews will be installing furnishings, shelving and equipment, and library staff will install public computers and shelve over 100,000 books and other materials.

“We are looking forward to welcoming our patrons back to the Sharon Forks Library and we are excited for the community to see and use the finished space,” Gunter said.

The release stated that all books and other materials currently on hold at the Sharon Forks branch must be picked up before the library closes.

Also: Patrons “may continue to request materials on hold at the Cumming, Hampton Park and Post Road library branches.”

Updates on the branch will be posted to www.forsythpl.org/sharonforks throughout February and March.
