SOUTH FORSYTH – Two portions of the Big Creek Greenway are temporarily closed due to damage from the storm that passed through Forsyth County and north and central Georgia Tuesday night.

A tree crashed onto the boardwalk between mile 6.1 and 6.2, just south of the Bethelview Road trailhead. The trailhead will remain open, and users can travel north toward Kelly Mill Road, according to Sarah Dunlap, a spokeswoman for the county.

A reopen date has not yet been determined.

The Fowler Park trailhead is also temporarily closed but is scheduled to reopen by Saturday.

Dunlap said this closure will not impact the greenway itself.
