Haw Creek Park in Forsyth County will soon have an interesting new amenity for kids and families, with the upcoming unveiling of Leadership Forsyth’s 2019 project.

According to a press release from the group, Leadership Forsyth will hold the grand opening of Forsyth County’s first StoryWalk, a trail featuring multiple signs that tell a story, at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 1.

“The Leadership Forsyth program culminates each class year with a community project focused on giving back to Forsyth County,” the release states. “This year’s class is building a StoryWalk at Haw Creek Park along one of the park’s walking trails.”

The release states that the children’s book, Duck on a Bike” by David Shannon, was chosen for the Haw Creek Story Walk.

“The StoryWalk will provide the Forsyth Community an opportunity to appreciate this book during a walk, targeting two community important values of health and literacy,” the release states. “This project aligns nicely with Forsyth County which has been voted the healthiest county in Georgia for seven years and has a strong community focus on promoting literacy.”

This event will be open to the public and will include community leaders, schools and partnering community organizations, according to the release.
