A new monthly food truck event will require some nearby roads to close.

From 5-9 p.m. on Friday, officials with the city of Cumming will host the first-ever Food Truck Fridays on School Street in downtown Cumming.

For the event, portions of School Street and Pilgrim Mill Road will be closed from about 4-9:30 p.m.

School Street will be closed from Pilgrim Mill Road to Mason Street, and Pilgrim Mill Road will be closed from School Street to the intersection with Hwy. 9.

A detour to reach Pilgrim Mill from downtown Cumming will take drivers down Hwy. 9 – turning between the Forsyth County Administration Building and Cumming City Hall – to Ingram Avenue, which will lead back to Pilgrim Mill.

Parking will be available at the Cumming City Hall Parking Lot, the Castleberry Road Parking Deck and in downtown parking spaces.

Food Truck Fridays are planned for the first Friday of each month.

The event is planned to have three entrée trucks and a dessert truck.
