The drivers of the two vehicles involved in a head-on collision Thursday morning in north Forsyth remained hospitalized Friday.

They and a 13-year-old passenger in one of the vehicles were taken to to North Fulton Hospital in what authorities described as serious condition.

A hospital spokeswoman said the teen was released later that day.

According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, the wreck occurred about 9 a.m. Thursday on Hwy. 9 between Martin and Mark Lake roads.

An Acura MDX driven by 59-year-old Cynthia Moore crossed the centerline and struck a Chevrolet Silverado, sheriff’s reports said.

The driver of the Silverado, who authorities identified as 38-year-old Stephen Pugmire, was reportedly taking his son to nearby North Forsyth Middle School.

Moore and Pugmire were in stable condition Friday at North Fulton, according to the hospital spokeswoman.

No charges have been filed and authorities continue to investigate the matter.

The collision shut down the well-traveled highway for about an hour.
