Forsyth County News

The tornado warning issued just after 2 P.M. today has been cancelled because the storm has continued to stay south as it moves east.

Division Chief Jason Shivers with the Forsyth County fire department urged residents to take precautions as the weather  moves through. "Although we have no reports of any tornadoes touching down in Forsyth County, weather radar is indicating the strong potential that a tornado could form, and this could happen very quickly" warned Shivers.

Although no damage has been reported in Forsyth, reports have been received of a tornado touchdown in the area of Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell along with hail as large as two to three inches in diameter.

Deputies are reporting one inch hail in the Old Atlanta Road area, and the Forsyth County School system held all students at their schools until the storm has passed.
