Two children dead in north Forsyth house fire
Lanier Heights Drive

Officials with the Forsyth County Fire Department say that two children were found dead after an overnight house fire on Apple Valley Court off Pilgrim MIll Road.

Division Chief Jason Stover with the Fire Marshall's office said Forsyth County 911 received a report of a house fire in the Lanier Heights subdivision at 2:41 this morning.  Deputies who arrived on the scene learned that there were people still in the house.  Deputies were unable to enter the home, which a neighbor said was engulfed in flames before emergency crews arrived.

Chief Stover said that after firefighters arrived, they learned that two children, ages 9 and 12 were still in the home.

Firefighters began a search and found the bodies of the children inside the home.  Names of the victim have not been released, but family members could be seen throughout the night grouped together.

The fire is being investigated by the Forsyth County Fire Department investigations unit along with the state fire marshalls office.
