Voter registration deadline for primary is April 26
voting

FORSYTH COUNTY — Less than a week remains for Forsyth County residents to register to vote in the May 24 General Primary.

Registration for the primary closes April 26. Barbara Luth, supervisor of Forsyth’s department of voter registrations and elections, said those interested in signing up have several ways to do so.

“They can register online at the [Georgia] Secretary of State’s website,” she said. “They can come in to our office and register … they just need to come in, they don’t need to bring anything with them … they can go to any local library and register.”

According to Luth, identification isn’t required to register in person, but is necessary to vote.

Voters have until 4:30 p.m. April 26 to register at the office of voter registrations and elections, which is in the Forsyth County Administration Building in downtown Cumming, or by 11:59 p.m. April 26 online at www.mvp.sos.ga.gov.

A week after registration, advance voting will begin at the administration building, Cumming City Hall, Hampton Park Library and the community buildings at Midway and Sharon Springs parks.

“We start on May 2, and will be at all five of our locations for the three weeks, and Saturday [May] 14th,” Luth said. “The hours are different at our office than they are at the others, but they can check our website for the different hours.”
