What to know about the 2019 Cumming Greek Festival
Cumming Greek Festival
The 2019 Cumming Greek Festival will be held Friday through Sunday, Oct. 18-20, at Saints Raphael, Nicholas & Irene Greek Orthodox Church.

One of Forsyth County largest – and tastiest – ethnic events returns soon.

The 2019 Cumming Greek Festival will be held Friday through Sunday, Oct. 18-20, at Saints Raphael, Nicholas & Irene Greek Orthodox Church. The weekend is filled with ways to experience Greek culture through entertainment, food and shopping.

Here’s what to know about the big event:

FOOD: Get a taste of the Mediterranean diet with a wide range of offerings, from lamb to keftedakia (Greek meatballs with red sauce), gyros to souvlaki wraps. Enjoy pastries, like the popular baklava, and other desserts like loukoumades (doughnuts drizzled with honey and cinnamon). Taste four traditional Greek wines, two beers and two spirits at the taverna. There will also be cooking demonstrations each day.

ENTERTAINMENT: The weekend will be filled with live Greek music, provided by The Bouzouki Express, and traditional dance performances from the Saints Raphael, Nicholas & Irene Greek Orthodox Church dance group. Kids can enjoy inflatables, face painting and crafts.
