Authorities have not determined what caused a fatal single-vehicle wreck Monday night on a south Forsyth road.

According to a Forsyth County Sheriff’s report, 56-year-old Raymond Holbrook of Bentley Road crashed his Ford F-150 truck at about 11:39 p.m. at Peachtree and Laurel Springs parkways.

Holbrook was pronounced dead at the scene, the report said.

Sheriff’s Investigator Ron Tomblin said Holbrook was heading north on Peachtree when, after passing the Laurel Springs Publix entrance, the vehicle left the road and traveled about 50 feet down the sidewalk.

The truck returned to the road before crossing over the sidewalk and striking a cement power pole.

Traffic was diverted for about 30 minutes as Forsyth County firefighters worked to remove Holbrook, who was traveling alone, from the pickup.

The wreck remains under investigation.
