CUMMING — A two-vehicle wreck caused delays and some injuries just after rush hour Tuesday morning in Cumming.

Westbound traffic on Canton Highway (Hwy. 20) was diverted near Sawnee Drive, which turns into Hwy. 306 (Keith Bridge Road) after a Nissan Frontier truck collided with a Chevrolet pickup about 10:10 a.m., according to Forsyth County Sheriff’s Cpl. Robin Regan.

The Chevrolet was towing a utility trailer, Regan said, while the Nissan was towing a covered trailer.

The driver of the Nissan, whose information was not immediately available, was found to be at fault and was cited for running the red light.

Drugs or alcohol are not suspected as factors in the crash, Regan said.

The only injury was sustained by a 21-year-old male passenger in the Nissan. He received non-life threatening injuries to his arm but reportedly refused medical treatment.

Regan said all three people involved are from Cumming. All lanes of traffic reopened about 11 a.m.
