RaceTrac wants even more of a footprint in Forsyth County.
The Atlanta-based gas station company recently applied for a conditional-use permit with the county to operate an around-the-clock store on 2.631 acres at the intersection of Peachtree Parkway and Brookwood Road in South Forsyth.
Plans submitted to the Forsyth County Department of Planning & Community Development includes a 5,411-square-foot gas station with 16 fuel pumps and 34 parking spaces.
The store would likely be another of RaceTrac’s newest models that feature an array of food and beverage options, including a Swirl World frozen dessert station, along with a coffee area and free Wi-Fi.
Similar locations have opened or are scheduled to open soon
at 1385 McFarland Parkway and 4295 Browns Bridge Road at Hammonds Crossing.
This proposed RaceTrac would come to an intersection that has the potential to transform this decade.
Across the street, Fuqua Development has requested to rezone 69.348 acres along Peachtree Parkway abutting Caney Creek Preserve to build Brookwood Quarters, a large-scale mixed-use development like Avalon or Halcyon. The latest iteration of the project plans for 75 townhomes, 250 apartments and 415,431 square feet of commercial buildings with 1,694 parking spaces.
