Surveyor in stable condition after being hit by vehicle on Ga. 400 in Forsyth County
Crime

A surveyor is in stable condition after getting struck by a vehicle Monday on Ga. 400, authorities said.

The man, identified only as in his 30s or 40s, was hit by a vehicle traveling south on Ga. 400 near Hampton Park Drive around 9:45 a.m. March 2, when he stepped into the roadway with his back to traffic, according to Stacie Miller, spokeswoman with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

The man was ‘alert and talking’ at the scene, Miller said, and was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were serious but not lift-threatening.

Investigators found no “warning devices” to indicate to traffic that the survey crew was ahead, Miller said.

The driver of the vehicle stayed on scene, she added, and while the FCSO is still investigating the incident, early reports indicate it was an accident.

Traffic going southbound on Ga. 400 was blocked for more than two hours.
