Letter: Sharon Springs article shows officials listening to residents
Letter

Kelly Whitmire’s article updating Sharon Springs [Friday, May 24] was very illuminating. It shows that the new commissioners and planning commissioners, Dennis Brown and Stacy Guy (District 2) and Laura Semanson and Tim Dineen (District 5) have been listening to their District residents, getting involved with early negotiations with neighbors and builders with help from Citizen Stakeholders, respecting the need for forward looking commercial development, not watering down the standards important to their Sharon Springs residents whose voices are being considered in UDC improvements, enforcing the 2017 Comprehensive Plan and in individual zonings.

At the time, the referendum was a painful and divisive process. Much good has come out of the process, both for the Alliance and the officials. This should continue.
